Erasmus Mundus Visiting Scholarships for Academics  in MUNDUS MAPP at the University of York

The Erasmus Mundus Master’s Program in Public Policy (Mundus MAPP) is a two-year-long international master’s course funded by the European Commission, jointly offered by Central European University PU (Austria)Institut Barcelona d’Estudis Internacionals (Spain), the International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam (the Netherlands), and the University of York (UK)

The Mundus MAPP Consortium hosts high-level visiting scholars/practitioners holding an outstanding academic/professional profile. They may come from both Programme and Partner countries and their involvement should bring added value to the Mundus MAPP program in terms of student-centered lecturing, research activities, thesis support, academic/professional networking, etc. The scholars benefit from the European Commission’s generous Erasmus Mundus Visiting Scholarships. For a list of past visiting scholars click here

The Consortium has open visiting scholar positions for 2022-2023 academic year for 2-4 weeks visiting scholar periods spent at the University of York, United Kingdom. (Visiting scholar positions for International Institute of Social Studies of Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands and Central European University PU, Austria are expected to be advertised for the 2023-2024 academic year). Applications for visiting scholar positions at the University of York will open shortly and a separate call will be published.

 Applicants must have a PhD degree and have academic teaching and/or policy related practitioner experience. The Consortium welcomes applications from candidates who can offer short (e.g., 1 day) workshops focusing on transferable skills relevant to policy studies master’s students. Alternatively, or in addition, visiting scholars are expected to contribute to running courses and/or giving public lectures and/or participate in research seminars and/or provide thesis supervision support at the host institutions. Scholars may also use the opportunity to make progress with their own research and broadening their scholarly network. Visiting scholars are also asked to take part in the promotion of Mundus MAPP upon completion of their scholarship.  

Interested academics are invited to elaborate on their proposed contribution to Mundus MAPP in their application form. The exact form of contribution is determined by an agreement between the visiting scholar and the Mundus MAPP Consortium. 

Financial contribution to the visiting scholars: gross 1.200 EUR/week (max. gross 4.800 EUR for the whole duration of the visit). Scholars are responsible for familiarizing themselves and meeting their tax obligations. For more information, please contact us: mundusmapp@ceu.edu.
