Information for applicants:

From the 2012-13 academic year, Mundus MAPP is structured in the following way:

Year 1

Joint admissions: applications to CEU indicating mobility track preference

Students enrol and move to Budapest or the Hague

  Central European University (Hungary) International Institute of Social Studies Erasmus University (The Netherlands)
 

Core courses:

Research methods
Policy analysis
Economics for public policy

 

 

Track-specific core courses:

Macroeconomics
Jean Monnet module on European integration


Elective courses:

range of courses with some changes each year

Track-specific core courses:

Capitalism and governance
Global transformations and social change
Governance of institutional reform

Elective courses:

range of courses with some changes each year

 

Thesis report

Spring school/study visit (short term mobility within the EU)

Internship (may involve short term mobility)

 

Year 2

Students move to Barcelona or York

Dissertation workshop

Thesis 12-15,000 words

 

 

Information for current students (cohorts 2010-12 and 2011-13):


1. A foundation year in policy studies and research methods at either the

University of York

OR

the International Institute of Social Studies Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Hague,

finishing with a thesis;

2. An annual summer school, jointly taught by consortium faculty and Erasmus Mundus visiting scholars, at the end of the first academic year, designed to provide maximum integration and interaction between Mundus MAPP students and faculty at all institutions;

3. A second specialised year in the transnational dimensions of policy at either

Central European University


OR

the Barcelona Institute of International Studies

finishing with an applied research or policy paper;

4. An internship at a relevant policy institution where students will have the chance to gain practical experience in policy analysis, normally after the second academic year.
