Dr Wil Hout, Associate Professor of World Development
Dr Hout previously taught at different Dutch universities (Leiden, Rotterdam) and was visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA) and the University of Sheffield (UK). His research focuses on international political economy, development assistance and the position of developing countries in the international sysyem. Articles have appeared or will appear shortly in such journals as the European Journal of International Relations, Development and Change, the Third World Quarterly, the Journal of Development Studies, Critical Asian Studies, Acta Politica: International Journal of Political Science, and International Politics and Society. He is currently working on a monograph on The Politics of Selectivity: Good Governance Criteria in US, World Bank and Dutch Foreign Assistance to be published by Routledge, and on an edited volume on European development assistance to be published by Ashgate.
