Professor Andreas Goldthau, Head of Department
Andreas Goldthau is the Head of the Department of Public Policy at CEU.
His current academic interests focus on energy security and on global governance
issues related to oil and gas. His recent publications include "OPEC.
Macht und Ohnmacht des Oelkartells" (Hanser, 2009) and "Global Energy
Governance. The new Rules of the Game" (Brookings Press, 2010). Andreas
Goldthau holds a joint graduate degree in Political Science from the Institut
d'Etudes Politiques de Paris and Freie University Berlin, a State Certificate
from Lomonosov University, Moscow, and a PhD from Freie University Berlin.
Dr Agnes Batory, Associate Professor, Mundus MAPP Academic
Coordinator (on leave until Fall 2012)
Agnes Batory (PhD, Cambridge University) is an Associate Professor at CEU's
Department of Public Policy and a Research Fellow of the Center for Policy
Studies. She joined CEU in 2003. Her research interests include domestic politics
and European integration, EU policy making, corruption and corruption control,
and more recently cohesion policy. She is co-editor of a book on voting behaviour
in European elections and her first research monograph, The politics of EU
accession, was published in 2008 with Manchester University Press.
Dr Nick Sitter, Professor, Mundus MAPP Acting Academic Coordinator (until Fall 2012)
Professor Nick Sitter (PhD from the London School of Economics and Political Science, Department of Government) joined the Department of Public Policy at CEU in 2008. His research interests include comparative European public policy, regulation, party systems, and Euroscepticism. Recent books include Understanding Public Management (Sage 2008) and Europe’s Nascent State: Public Policy in the EU (Gyldendal 2006).
