Dr Uwe Puetter, Associate Professor, Head of Department
Dr Puetter is Associate Professor and head of CEU's Department of Public Policy.
He received his PhD from Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland/UK in
2004. He worked with the Secretariat of the European Union's Economic and
Financial Committee and Economic Policy Committee in 2002 and was a EUSSIRF
Visiting Scholar at the European University Institute in Florence and a scholarship
holder of the European Political-economy Infrastructure Consortium (EPIC).
He is a member of the executive committee of the journal European Political
Economy Review and serves on the committee of the University Association for
Contemporary European Studies (UACES) as of September 2006. His recent publications
include a research monograph on The Eurogroup, published with Manchester University
Press.
Dr Agnes Batory, Assistant Professor, Mundus MAPP Academic Coordinator
Dr Batory (PhD, Cambridge University) is assistant professor in the Department
of Public Policy and a research fellow in the Center for Policy Studies. Her
doctoral research dealt with political attitudes to EU membership in East
Central Europe. Her current and recent research projects deal with visa and
consular policy in the context of ENP, views on Turkey's EU membership in
the political discourse of new member states, and a network of academics working
on anti-corruption. Prior to joining CEU, she was head of a unit in the Hungarian
Prime Ministers office. Her research interests include EU enlargement, the
party political aspects of European Integration, transparency and governance
and anti-corruption policy. She is co-editor of a volume on European elections
and her research monograph on The Politics of EU Accession is forthcoming
with Manchester University Press.
